UCIFE BACKGROUND

Empowering the Future of Infrastructure

The Uganda Construction & Infrastructure Forum and Exhibition (UCIFE) was initiated in 2023 by UNABSEC as a flagship annual platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and business engagement within Uganda’s construction and infrastructure sector. The forum is annually co-organized with the Ministry of Works and Transport, with the objective of bringing together public and private sector stakeholders to promote sustainable growth, innovation, and policy alignment in the built environment.

The inaugural edition of UCIFE was held at Kololo Independence Grounds from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th December 2023, under the theme: “Celebrating 30 Years of Shaping Uganda’s Construction Industry.” The event marked a major milestone for the sector, showcasing achievements, strengthening partnerships, and setting the foundation for future-focused discussions. Building on the success of the first edition, the 2nd Uganda Construction & Infrastructure Forum and Exhibition (UCIFE) 2026 is scheduled to take place from 8th to 9th July 2026 at Serena Hotel, Kampala, under the theme: “Harnessing Digitalization and Innovation in Construction and Infrastructure Development.”

Contractors' Run 2026

"Run for Safe Schools and Healthy Communities"

Why We Run

Replacing Asbestos Roofing in Schools & Health Facilities

Many older schools and health facilities across Uganda still have asbestos roofing sheets. As these sheets age and deteriorate, they release harmful fibres into the air — posing serious health risks including chronic respiratory diseases, asbestosis, lung cancer, and mesothelioma.

Proceeds from the Contractors' Run 2026 will be used to purchase new iron sheets for selected beneficiary institutions, directly improving the safety of students and patients.
